How the internal link checker works
It resolves relative links to full URLs, compares hostnames, and reads anchor text, image alt, and rel attributes.
Inspect internal destinations, review empty labels or nofollow values, filter the table, and export the visible rows.
What you can check without signing up
Real destinations, not guesses
Relative links and protocol-relative URLs are resolved against the fetched page and its HTML base element.
Actual anchors and image alt
Find descriptive links, generic labels, and image links whose alt text is missing or empty.
Rel and robots directives
See nofollow, sponsored, and ugc values, plus a page-wide robots nofollow instruction when present.
Use internal links to make useful pages discoverable
Google generally discovers links through HTML <a> elements with href attributes. Descriptive, concise anchor text helps people and search engines understand each destination. A nofollow attribute is a hint, not a reliable way to block indexing or measure the amount of ranking credit transferred. Avoid automatically adding nofollow to normal internal navigation. A single-page HTML scan cannot find orphan pages, verify that targets return 200, or detect links added only after JavaScript runs. For those jobs use a broader site audit or a dedicated HTTP status check.
Internal link checker FAQs
What counts as an internal link?
A navigable HTTP(S) anchor whose hostname matches the inspected page after removing a leading www. Subdomains such as blog.example.com count as external to example.com.
Will this scan all pages or detect broken links?
No. It fetches one public HTML document. It does not request each destination, discover orphan pages, or crawl the rest of a website.
Does nofollow mean a link passes no PageRank?
No single checker can measure that. Google treats nofollow, sponsored, and ugc as hints. We report the markup present, not guaranteed ranking effects.
Why are some navigation links missing?
Only links present in the fetched HTML are included. Links inserted later by JavaScript may not appear. Compare with a rendered crawl if needed.
