How the HTTP status checker works

01

Paste up to 25 public URLs. Duplicates are checked once.

02

Choose a browser or crawler-style User-Agent and send the check.

03

Inspect each redirect hop, headers, timing and any failed responses; export the results.

This tool sends a User-Agent string from DigestSEO infrastructure, not from Google's or another crawler's verified IP. Differences are diagnostic clues, not proof of search-engine access. Cloudflare Worker subrequests can bypass edge redirects such as Always Use HTTPS, so observed status chains may differ from an external browser. External sites may block requests. Each check costs one of three daily attempts; very long redirect chains may be partial on Cloudflare Free.

Frequently asked questions about HTTP status

What does 301 vs 302 mean for SEO?

301 and 308 are permanent server-side redirects; 302 and 307 indicate temporary moves. Check the destination and avoid long chains.

Does this really test Googlebot or GPTBot?

It can send the crawler's User-Agent string, but cannot impersonate the crawler's verified network identity. Some sites will rightly respond differently.

Why is the daily limit three checks?

Each free check may inspect 25 URLs and multiple redirect hops. Three checks per UTC day, counted by network address, keep the service available without paid infrastructure.
